Not sure What a juice cleanse is good for or how to do it? Here's some more info for you:

Cleanse Benefits:

  • Give your internal organs and systems a rest.  We are a society consumed by eating constantly, thus making our bodies (stomach, liver, kidneys...etc) work very hard to digest and filter out toxins.  A cleanse is a good way to allow your systems - all the way down to your cells- to reset and recharge to ensure that they are working to the best of their ability.  All the while you will still be getting awesome amounts of vitamins, enzymes and nutrients via cold pressed juices.  
     

  • Reduce your appetite. Juicing is not intended to be a miracle weight loss solution.  A bikini body generally takes a lot of hard work and healthy eating!  Juicing eliminates the habit of comfort eating, and makes you feel satiated with less food than usual. This provides a big psychological boost to help get over the hurdle of changing habits.  Usually when you complete a cleanse you will not want to keep eating junk food.
     

  • Improve energy. After enduring a few possible side effects from caffeine and processed sugar withdrawal, most people begin to feel much more energy and clarity (by consuming only fresh juices) than they ever did with frequent caffeine drinks.
     

     

Before your cleanse:​

Time to prepare!

    

It is recommended that you begin preparing your body for cleansing a couple of days in advance.  Thoughtful preparation will make your experience much easier.  

 

During those couple of days it may be beneficial to begin cutting down on your intake of processed food, caffeine, animal protein & dairy.

 

Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables and ensure that you are well hydrated.  

 

during your cleanse:​

 

Ready, set, go!  

 

You will receive 5 juices, 1 non-dairy milk of your choice & 1 packet of chamomile tea per day.

 

Your drinks will be numbered from 1-6 so there's no guesswork involved.

 

First thing in the morning have a room temperature glass of filtered water with a wedge of lemon.  

 

Coffee is not recommended (sorry coffee lovers!) but if you would like something warm and caffeinated try having green tea instead.

 

Get your game face on and crack open your first juice!  Consume the rest of your juices in approx. 2 - 2.5 hour intervals.  

 

 

 

 

 

As the day rolls on…

 

Continue to drink filtered water throughout the day to flush toxins out of your body. Staying hydrated and sweating will help to ease any negative side effects from your detox.

 

Into the night

 

The blended juice (if you selected this option), and milk of your choice will help you feel more full and will help decrease your cravings for fatty foods. 

 

The chamomile tea will help you unwind after a day of cleansing and will hopefully usher you into a relaxing and restful night’s sleep.  

 

Try to get at least 8 hrs of sleep each night in order to aid the healing and elimination process.

 

 

TIPS:​

 

  • Find a cleansing buddy and cleanse together (buddies help keep each other on track!)

  • Stay active to flush toxins out of your body (do yoga, visit a sauna, get a massage, go for a walk...)  

  • If you feel hungry and feel that you cannot continue, try having a small, healthy smoothie or small salad (with lemon juice & a little sea salt)-avoid anything processed

  • Be easy on yourself & listen to your body. If you have lots of energy, feel free to exercise more rigorously. If you feel tired, try some light stretching or an easy walk instead

  • Take an epsom salts bath in the evening to aid in the detoxification process before bed

 

Please note: It is normal to experience some side effects while detoxing (ie: headaches, tiredness, nausea). 

 

Experiencing some symptoms while cleansing is often a good sign, as it means that you’re eliminating toxins from your body; the juice will help to re-energize your cells.

 

Remember that not everyone will have the same experience.  Try some of the tips above to help ease symptoms.  Once the symptoms pass, you will most likely start to feel energized and revitalized.  

 

 

AFTER your cleanse:​

Rejoice & do a happy dance! You did it!

 

-Hopefully you will be feeling super energized, light and clean!

-You will have given your system a break & an opportunity to reset itself

-You most likely will not want to eat junk/processed foods

 

  • Ease back into solid food.  Make sure to eat lots of raw fruits and veggies. Salads are a great following a cleanse.

  • Continue to drink juices to help supplement your diet.  Juicing is a great way to maintain a healthy & nutrient rich diet.
